  • We understand it can be beneficial for children to receive therapy services in their natural environment and we welcome the opportunity to support your children at home, school, child care and other community places of your choice.

We calculate travel time based on the distance between our office and your chosen location for therapy services. The hourly rate for travel time is identical to the hourly rate for therapy services and is invoiced to families following each therapy session.

  • Both! Children often face challenges in various areas of functioning and across different environments. Discussing these with families in our initial meeting helps us to decide where to provide therapy to maximise your child’s therapeutic outcomes.

  • Of course! This is a key aspect of the therapy process and it is essential for parents (and significant others such as other family members, support workers, teachers or other therapists) to receive the education and tools they need to continue to implement strategies outside of therapy times to support progress more effectively.

Progress notes will be recorded and feedback will be provided via email so you are aware of your child’s work and progress observed during the session.

  • This very much depends on your child’s current strengths and needs as well as your therapy objectives. Goals are usually discussed in the initial meeting during which we discuss and establish your child’s therapeutic goals.

From there, the relevant assessment(s) will be completed to guide therapy treatment. It is always difficult and almost impossible to predict how long the therapy support will last but frequency depends very much on families' availability and funding options. Note that the frequency of sessions can always be reviewed according to your child's progress.

  • If you are considering paying privately for OT supports, it is possible to discuss with your GP if you are eligible for a rebate on a limited number of therapy sessions through Medicare.

If you have access to a private health insurance, you might be able to receive a rebate if occupational therapy is included within your coverage.

Please contact both Medicare and your health fund to determine which option provides the best financial support for OT services.

  • Being a mobile therapy services means that we come to you to provide therapy services which can be an advantage as families may see a way to save time and thier own travel costs.
The delivery of occupational therapy in your child’s natural settings (e.g., home, school) can also be highly beneficial particularly if your therapy outcomes are relevant to school or home environments.

The option of choosing telehealth is always available. Depending on your child's response to therapy via telehealth, a combination of in-person and telehealth service delivery is also possible. Please call us to discuss this further.
